Connections Counseling Inc
About
I am currently accepting new clients! My practice is brand new as of November 2020 and I come to the world of community counseling after 6 years experience as a school counselor in both the primary and secondary settings. I am a Colorado native and have never left! I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and offer FREE 10-15 minute initial consultations by phone or video call where we will determine if we want to move forward with scheduling an intake session.
I love seeing people grow and discover their potential and their worth. I have lots of exerience working with youth and families, focusing on empowerment and reducing barriers to reaching their goals, whatever they may be. I am passionate about advocating for others and helping them find their inner strength. Some issues I can help with include depression, anxiety, self-esteem, maladaptive behaviors, school problems, relationships, and communication. I would love the opportunity to meet you and see if I can help!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer free initial phone or video consultations so we can get to know eachother. From there, if we agree to move forward together, we will schedule an intake session to dig deeper into your concerns.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling and Human Services. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor (license number LPC.0016555)
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My current rate for self-pay clients is $65/hr. I am in the process of being able to accept the following insurances: Anthem BCBS, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Tricare.
How did you get started in this business?
My training as a counselor was geared toward both the school and community settings. Originally I decided to pursue the world of School Counseling; however, after working in the schools for 6 years I decided I wanted to to make a change. As a private counselor I am able to work more in depth with my clients and address issues from more angles than are available in the school setting.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with children, adolescents, and adults.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Choosing a counselor is a big decision, and we don't always get it right the first time. Not every therapist is right for every person or situation, so it is impotant to be open minded and honest about what you are looking for. If you have tried counseling in the past and it did not go well, I encourage you to give it another try with someone different. Life is hard, and we don't have to go through it alone!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are you looking to get out of your time with a counselor? Is there a particular gender/age/ethnicity you are more or less comfortable with? Have you tried counseling before? If so, what went well and what didn't?
