About

Early in my legal career, I worked as trial counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the nation. From that experience, I learned from the inside how the insurance companies work and how to fight against the tactics they use to diminish injury claims. Today I use that experience to help injured people.

As a sole-attorney practice, I will personally handle your injury case from beginning to end. I have a reputation for high-quality representation, and I pride myself on my integrity and straightforward, practical approach.

    Frequently asked questions

    For Personal Injury:

First we schedule an intiial intake meeting for you to share what you need help with, the incident that caused your injuries and the injuries themselves.

The second phase is pre-litigation.  This is where we monitor and manage all of the invovled insurance companies so you can focus on healing.

When treatment is done, we move into the demand phase.  Here we gather all of the documents to support your claim and put together a demand to the insurance company. We also engage in negotiations with the insurance companies to determind if we can resolve your claim out side of court.

If negotiations fail, we move into litigation, where a lawsuit is filed in Court and we represent you throughout the court process, including trial if needed.

    For Estate Planning:

We set an initial Wealth Planning meeting to discuss your goals for your family and your personal legacy and the right plan based on the specifics of your assets and family needs.

We then put together all the necessary documents to ensure your goals will be properly carried out at the time of your death or incapacity.

We set a second meeting to review those documents and fill in any gaps, and to make sure the plan will work thorughout your lifetime.

At the final meeting, you complete a final review of our documents and sign the final trust or will.

I have been in personal injury practice for 11 years.  The first part of my career was as an isnurance defense attorney.  I have since switched to representing injured people against the insurance company adn have been doing so for 8 years.

My degree is from Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, Illinois.

Personal injury practice is contingency based - there are no out of pocket expenses to retain me for personal injury representation.

For estate planning, that is a fee-based practice and the fees vary based upon the type of plan we determine is best for you.  Generally fees range between $2,000 - $8,000 depending up on the plan and services provided.

I’m a rule-follower by nature, as I’m sure you are too. The structure of laws and contracts is comforting in its predictability. When we pay for insurance coverage, we enter a contract for benefits. Month after month we pay our premiums as the rules tell us to. In exchange for money, we should to be able to rely on medical treatment, vehicle repairs, payment for pain and suffering, etc. In many cases we maintain brand loyalty to our insurance companies for several decades. When it comes time to call on those contracted benefits, the response is often skepticism, doubt, and denial. “Are these injuries as serious as you claim? Did they really happen from THIS accident?” “We don’t think your losses are worth as much as you claim they are.” “Delay, Deny, Defend” is the unwritten slogan of many prominent insurance companies. When the business model is profit over people, people will lose out every time and it’s up to us to show that we won’t sit back and allow that to happen.

I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. My ideal client is an active woman, aged 45-65 who is either looking to ensure her legacy is secure for her family's next generation, or has been injured thorugh someone else's negligence and needs advocacy against the insurance company.

I recently had the pleasure of representing Sharon* in a car accident.  She was a passenger in her vehicle when another driver turned in front of her, causing a t-bone car crash.  She struck her knee against the dashboard, causing severe injuries to her knee and back.  This resulted in therapy and injections for her back, and a knee replacement surgery.  Sharon was an active person whose lifestyle was impacted by this injury.  I was honored to recover a settlement for her in the high six-figures, help her get the medical treatmetn she needed, and ensure she was fully compensated for the severity of her injuries.

There are a lot of free and low-cost options available on the internet.  The problem with these is that they can't account for the individual needs of people.  Only a qualified attorney knows the right questiosn to ask to ensure your case is handled properly, and for estate planning, that you have the documents you need for the security in knowing your assets will be properly handled throughout your life and beyond.

For estate planning, you need to be ready to take the steps needed to ensure you and your family are protected.  We have to ask difficult questions and talk about uncomfortable subjects (end of life), but our family wealth plannind session is designed to help you work through the best answers to those questions and taking care of your family.
