I really enjoy putting my years of education and legal experience into real life practice and finding creative, real legal solutions for my clients - ultimately, producing the best results I can for them.

Even moreso though, I enjoy the strenght, hope and inspiration I get from watching my clients walk through some of the most challening circumstances we face in our lifetimes - and the friendships that are built through that process.

I hired James Margulis after fleeing with my children from California to get out of an abusive marriage. Mr. Margulis immediately knew what we needed to do to ensure my husband was unable to come and take the children from me. Within 24 hours he had filed all needed paperwork and I was on my way to having temporary custody. After a Colorado judge approved temporary custody, Mr. Margulis then went on to help me keep the restraining order against my husband in place. He was phenomenal in court, straight to the facts with excellent communication skills. Anytime I needed him, he was available on his cell phone immediately. He clearly answered all my questions in a kind, straight forward manner. He was honest on fees. Mr. Margulis has a compassionate heart along with the fight of a lion. I trust this man.

I live in Steamboat Springs, CO, and Jim handled my higher income, somewhat contentious divorce. Jim did a fantastic job. He not only gave me great legal advice, but he also helped me get some perspective and make good decisions. I have recommended Jim to several of my friends who have also been very satisified. He is very accessible by phone and email and promptly returns messages. He negotiated a good settlement for me and parenting time arrangements that continue to be in the best interest of my children. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We begin with a telephone consultation. Once I determine whether or not we are a potential match, there are several different options - set up an in person meeting, if urgent they can retain me elrectronically, set up a second telephone conference or refer them to another respectable lawyer who i believe can better help them.
