Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we have an introductory call so that I know if I can help the client or not.
Client will email me the relevant documents. I reveiw them and we arrange a meeting to go over the details and determine how best to proceed.
Many of the referrals that I receive from this site have no message or indication of what the case is about. You will get a better response from the attorneys if you put a brief description in the "message" that is sent to the lawyer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My undergraduate degree was in Philosophy from UC Berkeley.
My JD was from University of California.
I have been an attorney since 1987
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with real estate owners, investors and business people. I handle all types of real estate and business litigation, for both plaintiffs and defendants.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Give as much information as you can. I know that people want to portray themselves in a "positive" light, of course. However, you never want your attorney to be unpleasantly surprised when the truth comes out. Better to let us know so that we can deal with it head-on.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is it that you want out of the litigation or legal services? Many people are just mad and want vindication. The courts are not good places to get revenge or vindication, lawsuits are generally about money. How much you are damaged in monetary terms is not related to how angry you are.
