The Weissler Law Group focuses on helping clients maintain control & preserve their hard-earned assets. We feel that no one should be required to sacrifice a lifetime of work to either bad circumstances or in order to receive care in their old age. We provide Asset Protection, Elder Law, Estate Planning & Probate representation.
Estate Planning is about controlling your assets during & after your lifetime. We seek to minimize taxes, reduce family conflict & smooth the transfer of assets through custom trusts, wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, & business structures (including FLPs, FLLCs, & Corps). We take the time to ask and answer questions so that we can craft each estate plan to fit our clients’ individual values & goals.
Our Elder Law work combines estate planning & asset protection for Seniors to include helping them protect their nest eggs while qualifying for in-home & residential care entitlements. We guide clients through the asset shifts required to arrange their affairs; & implement the correct types of irrevocable trusts needed to qualify Seniors for VA & Medi-Cal benefits while protecting their assets.
Our Asset protection practice focuses on risk exposure reduction. We work with business owners, investors and professionals to restructure their affairs segregate value from risk. In serving our clients we utilize domestic and international business, trust, retirement, and insurance structures. Through advance planning our clients can achieve improved insulation for their assets & isolate their risks to reduce their exposure predators & the unexpected.
Our Trust Administration and Probate Practice focuses on transferring assets after deaths while reducing the delays & strains imposed on families.
History
The Weissler Law Group was established by Attorney Joel Weissler. He opened the firm, after coping with the death of family members under circumstances where inadequate legal planning caused unnecessary family conflict and pain, to help others avoid that pain. The Weissler law group is dedicated to touching client's lives by providing the highest level of legal representation in areas which make a difference for clients and their families. The practice is anchored in estate planning, elder law, asset protection planning, probate and trust administration.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We first speak with our potential clients by phone. Because everyone's situation is different, and we are not the right law firm for everyone, we take the time during those initial calls to gather information before setting an appointment. After setting an appointment time, we send most potential clients an information organizer to complete to help them give us the information we will need to advise them. Whenever possible, we love to have these completed and returned prior to potential client's scheduled appointments. But we understand that life is busy. We ask only that our clients do their best. If that means bringing either a completed, or partially completed, organizer to our initial meeting that is ok. Prior to your initial appointment, if neither attorney was free to speak with you when you called, you may receive a phone call from us to make certain that our initial meeting will be as productive as possible. During our first in person meeting with you, we will take the time to find out more about you and your situation. We will share with you relevant information about how the system works and how different structures and legal processes work and make recommendations of what to do to address your concerns and help handle the problems you are facing. We will also explain how we charge and how much we anticipate charging to meet your needs.
