About this pro

I provide counseling services for a wide variety of disorders with specific focus on communication, addiction and codependence issues for adolescents, adults, couples and families. I work from a spiritual perspective, with a focus on mindfulness. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist over 12 years ago, I worked in the corporate world of Silicon Valley as a software executive. Consequently, I can relate to those patients’ issues that can be traced to the pressures of work in today’s fast-paced business environment.

A major fraction of my practice consists of couples counseling. I have found that many of the problems these couples experience are due to the fact they have stopped listening to each other. There is nothing more gratifying than experiiencing the reunion that happens when these problems are recognized and corrected.

Fisher Therapy Services has been top-quality. Both my husband and I started going to Mike last year because we wanted to enhance our marriage with some guidance through counseling. We were in a tough spot as far as communication, but Mike Fisher has taught us some affective ways of communication. As for myself, I too have used Mike for my own issues. He’s help me deal with some trama, and other things that I’ve gone through. Although some people may be uninterested in therapy, I was incredibly skeptical myself. But found that he’s a great listener, and provides plenty of attention to detail. I highly recommend Fisher therapy services

I read the rational recovery literature as you recommended. It makes a lot more sense today than it would have 2 yrs clean. The evolution of this thing is intriguing but I guess many people don't notice and don't let it happen. Thanks for always being there for me Mike.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I usually receive an email, text message or phone call. I determine the potential patient's needs to see if there is a good fit and, if so, schedule an appointment.

During the first appointment I inform the client of his legal rights of confidentiality, my fees, and the way I work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University. I have incorporated much of Linehan’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach into my practice, with it’s emphasis on mindfulness and spirituality, In addition to my professional credentials, I am a recovering alcoholic with over 30 years of sobriety,

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

I offer a sliding scale fee schedule arranged according to the patient’s ability to pay, I do not take insurance, primarily because I have found that patient outcomes improve proportionate to the amount of investment the patient has made. Simply put, the more skin in the game the better the outcome!
