RLH Family Law Offfices
About
I am a second career attorney, having been a college professor prior to becoming an attorney. I am also an adoptive father, and it was that experience that led me to change careers. My clients always get my full attention as I limit the number of cases I take on and the courts (Pasadena, Chatsworth and Van Nuys) that I work out of to insure my clients get the best representation I can provide.
My goal as an attorney is to provide quality legal services at a reasonable price. I want to make sure my client's get the best representation they can, and I always make sure I am available to answer questions any time they have them.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meet with the client and obtain all relevant paperwork at the meeting or previously by email. Based on their information, provide them with their legal options. Assure them that I return all phone calls, texts and emails within 24 hours, though usually it is the same day, depending upon my availability.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a college professor at a community college for over 20 years. Also, I am an adoptive father, adopting my youngest child from foster care and my oldest child as a step-parent.
My entire life and my life experiences have prepared me to be the best family law attorney I can be.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do not work on an hourly basis, I charge only flat fees and will work with clients on payments if they can't afford the total fee upfront.
How did you get started in this business?
My frustration in dealing with DCFS and their adoption system (it took 3 years to adopt my child) was my inspiration for changing careers and going to law school. I was a tenured college professor prior to entering law school.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all types of client, from every socio-economic background, and have dealt with clients who are at their lowest points in live due to either divorce or having their children removed or in dealing with an ailing parent.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I encourage ALL my clients to ask questions, and I don't charge my client for asking questions in emails or phone calls, unless they are seeking my legal opinion. Information is free.
