Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We offer prompt appointments with the first 20 minutes of your interview at no charge. The next hour is at $300 and applies to your retainer when you retain our office to represent you. Your legal fees cannot commonly be quickly estimated with accuracy. For example, there are unknown facts, two sides and emotional elements to find and consider in most family cases.
Your hourly rates will range from $125 for our paralegal to $450 for our Partners' time. Your average rate is usually $275 to $325 an hour.
To best be able to help you, you need to tell us what your goals are for the end of the dispute and what are the financial and other facts you believe point to and support the outcome you seek. What are emotionally based issues and what they are all about are important for us to know too.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are UCLA graduates and have over 40 years of practice in Orange County. Plus, we are trained and experienced mediators and collaborative practitioners for resolving disputes out of court, thoroughly and promptly.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started in this business?
Helping people in crisis is what we have always wanted to do since being young children. Being your lawyer and guiding you through to the other side of hurt and on to your future is what works for us.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Individuals and families, old and young, whose family is breaking up, or someone who has been injured by a careless other, or who are accused of violating the law.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
After bitterly contesting what were the facts in a recent divorce case, the husband and wife and their attorneys, one of which was me, sat down in one room together. And having made a written commitment to make a peacemaking effort, we looked at possible settlement outcomes and why they could work (not who won or lost on the point). With thorough looks, cooperation was established and we resolved both the financial and the parenting disputes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a company in your area of expertise?
Experience is the greatest teacher but being able to listen and communicate with you are essential for you to have the benefit of that experience.
What questions should customers think through before talking to companies about their needs?
What can you do to make the process get to the end results you can live with soonest?
