About
I have a passion for legal services and always help my clients achieve their goals with minimum fuss.
My experience includes 32 years as a practicing lawyer in Southern California, with emphasis in Family Law, Civil Litigation and Workers' Compensation.
I am a licensed California lawyer, a member of the State Bar of California in good standing since 1987, a graduate of the Pepperdine University School of Law in 1985, a Judge Pro Tem, a member of the Los Angles County Bar Association, and a credentialed California Community College English Instructor.
I have a profile on LinkedIn and on Facebook, as well as my lawyer4u88.com website.
From the inital preparation and filing of an opening pleading with the court, through the entire litigation process, through trial and appeal, Mr. Shalmi aggressively pursues his clients' best interests in a timely and effective manner to obtain maximum benefits and long term peace of mind. His objective for each client is to obtain the appropriate short term outcomes, and, ultimately, to obtain the most favorable settlement, or else prevail at trial.
My reward is knowing I performed a job well done and helped my clients achieve their goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work carefully with my clients, by telephone, by email, by text messages and in person, not matter what the nature and complexity of the communications needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been educated and trained by the best legal professionals anywhere.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are reasonable, and I will work with you to find an affordable fee arrangement. However, I do not work pro bono (for free).
How did you get started in this business?
I started in this business with a strong desire to make a difference in society by helping those in need and doing it in a fair, moral, ethical and honest way, one in which my parents and peers would be proud. I have studied the law and the ever changing cases and statutues countless hours in order to be up to date and ready to present legal arguments for my clients at any time and place.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. Young. Old. Rich. Poor. Black. White. Educated. Uneducated. Divorces. Immigration. Contractual matters. Work injuries. Car accidents. You name it.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I helped a transient person who had been injured in a bus accident obtain medical care and treatment and an excellent Award.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
First of all, make sure he or she is a pro in the field you are looking for. Then, make sure you follow his or her advice to a tee, so your matter will flourish.... Otherwise, you don't need a pro expert. You just need yourself. And then your matter will sink like a lead balloon. Lawyer up!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Clients should think about their goals in the matter at issue, the paperwork they have and will need, as well as the details of their case i.e. specific and complete names, addresses, dates, times, dollar amounts, accountings, medical records, employment information, and the like. These are necessary for the attorney to have in order for him to represent your interests accurately and completely. A case without a strong factual foundation cannot go anywhere.
