About
Hi, I'm Vanessa and I'm very happy and excited to be working as a health coach! My holistic approach to health coaching emphasizes the importance of balancing mind, body, and spirit. It is so meaningful to me to connect with people one-on-one, and I have long been passionate about health, nutrition, yoga, and wellness. I help my clients achieve their goals by focusing on habit change, and helping clients reach their goals by making small changes to their everyday lives. I coach with a great deal of loving support, as many of us are already so hard on ourselves in everyday life. I believe in you, and I know I can help you reach your goals!
In addition to my health coaching certification, I am also a certified yoga teacher, and am thrilled to bring my background in yogic diet and lifestyle to health coaching. While I have informally been coaching friends, family, coworkers and community members on the topics of diet, exercise and health for about 10 years, I officially became a health coach in 2019.
While my background and certification allow me to work with anyone, I am especially passionate about working with women who have any type of hormonal, weight, or metabolic issues, or who have experienced an unexplained decrease in their energy over the years.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am now accepting new clients into my practice! As a new client, we will schedule a 45-60 minute consultation (free of charge), so we can identify your goals for your health, and also understand anything that might be stopping you, slowing you down, or keeping you from reaching your goals. We would also settle on a weekly meeting time that works for both of us, as we will be meeting once a week (in person or over phone/Zoom) to work on goals and challenges, action steps, and other aspects of your journey to wellness.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.A., American Cultural Studies, Western Washington University, 2008
Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, 2016
Certified Health Coach, 2019
How did you get started in this business?
I got started as a health coach because of my love of connecting with people on a personal level, as well as my passion for yoga, healthy eating and lifestyle practices, and just feeling as good as you possibly can in your life. I've known for a long time that I wanted to make a difference in people's lives, and when I learned about health coaching, I felt like I had finally found the right career for me. It was a natural next step in my passions and interests, and I feel very fortunate to be able to make health coaching my career.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with women over 50 who have struggled with weight loss, loss of energy, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and making healthy choices regularly. I have also worked with women in their 30's and 40's who want to make exercise and movement more a part of their daily routine, but who have struggled in the past to create a new habit. I've also worked with women who struggle with thyroid issues, food allergy challenges, and women who just can't seem to shed those last stubborn 10 pounds. I've also worked with men who want to create healthier habits in their life and bring more focus to their lifestyle, so that they can eat better and exercise more regularly.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
When looking for a health coach to help you on your journey, I would advise you to look for someone who believes in your ability to succeed, and who can truly support you in a kind and compassionate way. The best way to find out if a health coach can do this for you is to talk with them! Find out about them and what motivates them to be a health coach. Ask them questions to get a sense of who they are and how they work. The other piece of advice I would offer is to be honest with yourself and your health coach.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Most professionals will be happy to tell you about what they do and give you a sense of what it would be like to work with them. If you want more info from them, you could ask questions like:
How would you describe your coaching style?
How did you decide to become a health coach?
What inspires you?
How do you help clients who have struggled with their health in the past?
How would your past clients describe working with you?
