About
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) works quite quickly for most clients so I am a dedicated practitioner although within its framework, I may use other interventions to achieve goals. ACT is based on neuroscience and even supports some ancient Buddhist psychology, e.g. to cultivate the observing self or "noticer" of your thoughts and behaviors. It helps use recognize our avoidance strategies, learn to process whatever comes our way and live the values that we find most meaningful.
Seeing clients feel better after dropping their shame and embracing some self-compassion so they can move towards their ideal life. No mud; no lotus. Seeing someone blossom from suffering to contentment is very satisfying.
