I treat each client as if they are a personal friend or member of the family. My clients benefit from my training and continuing education. I am Board Certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists and also cerftified as an Instructor so I also teach people who want to do hypnosis professionally. I have many specialty certifications. Many have something to do with pain management for specific issues such as IBS and Fibromyalgia. Others include Hypnosis for PTSD, Hypnosis for Stroke Recovery and I receive referrals from Methodist Gastroenterology Department. I also have a number of physicians and a dentist as clients. I've done hypnoanesthesia in several dentist offices and in one dermatology office. I was invited by The University of Texas Health Sciences Center Houston School of Medicine to present for Grand Rounds, with one of my clients, for their Department of Neurology and Psychiatry. Here's a story about a client that sums up what I enjoy about my work. I was contacted by a young lady who was having to udergo invitro fertilization in order to become pregnant because of abdominal pain brought on by Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is normally a 10-12 session protocol. By her third session she no longer had abdominal pain. I keep a card she sent me before last Christmas with a picture of her, her husband and her one-year old baby. That's what I enjoy about my work.
A lady was referred by Methodist Gastroenterology with chest pain. All tests including a cardiology exam found no organic cause. She called the next morning to tell me it was the first she could remember waking up with no chest pain. That's what I like about what I do.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
If they have internet access, I have them go to my website and print the intake forms so they can fill them out and bring them, saving some time. I invite their questions and I ask some regarding their particular need and their relevant history. I do some modality testing for hypnotizability and for sensory response. I give each a folder with written instructions for learning to do self-hypnosis and instructions on how to use a reinforcing CD I give them. Then we do a hypnosis session that generally lasts about 45 minutes. Assuming they are happy with that first session, in the second session, in addition to more specific suggestions appropriate to their issue, we will do regression to initial sensitizing event, enable them in a very safe way to identify experiences and emotions underlying the triggers for their proble and releasing and letting go. This is usually very powerful and productive.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA from the Universityu of Oklahoma in Broadcasting-Speech. I'm about 1 or 2 classes shy of having a minor in Psychology. I worked in broacasting professionally for 5 years in sales, writing and recording commercials for clients. Think of a commercial as a persuasive speech designed to persuade a person to change from one product or service to another. Hypnotherapy is deigned to help a client change from a negative behavior, fear, stress, anxiety or other negative mindset to a positive one. Pretty good training.
I also took a year's 100 hour course, that was condensed into six months by having class 6 days a week that resulted in certification in hypnosis, in clinical hypnosis, and in forensic hypnosis. The hypnosis certification was recognized by the National Guild with their own certification. I have attended conventions and seminars every year to further my expertise. My certification as an Instructor exempts me from the necessity to take further CEU tests. Teaching others also continues my self-training.

My sessions are $150. That's per session, not per hour. First session my run 2-2.5 hours. Second generally runs 1.5 hours. Reinforcing follow-up sessions run 50 min. to over an hour. All are $150.
