About this pro

Exodus Financial Group offers an holistic approach to tax and financial planning services. I was a licensed financial advisor with Fidelity Investments and consulted CPAs for 3 years with HD Vest, helping them grow their CPA practices to offer financial planning services all while offering the same services for my clients. Most tax professionals, including CPAs offer little insight into these matters. Ultimately that is the value add to our clients. We keep up with the tax laws by completing hundreds of hours of CE annually to stay sharp on our skills. Our goal is to go deep and wide to help our clients not only save on their taxes but to have a strategic plan to reaching their financial goals. We call this the Exodus Advantage.

I enjoy analzing numbers and coming up with plans to go beyond simple tax preparation and undercover what my clients are trying to achieve through minizing their taxes. We put emphasis on the end game 3-5 year, 10 year...legacy. In our humble opinion, Turbox Tax isn't designed to do that and for clients who value this, making a decison to hire us is an easy decision.

He was very quick to respond, thorough and knowledgeable. He saved me thousands by employing his knowledge and I will return to use him again next year.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My typical process is a quick call to determine the need of the client. From there depending on the clients schedule/availability I send them a client info sheet to onboard them along with all the documentation I need to prepare taxes or financial plan.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

University of North Texas, BA Economics

Series 7 & 66

Completed numerous tax, accounting, and finance classes

Completed course work for CFP program (haven't sat for exam).

Courses included the following:

Tax Planning

Estate Planning

Investment Planning

Insurance Planning

Retirement Planning

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

We charge per form...

We're very comparable to HR Block, Jackson Hewitt, and the other major chains

the only difference is we provide a personal touch and go far deeper than these firms to understand our clients needs.

How did you get started in this business?

We started our business October 22, 2012 after discussing our desire to offer a holistic tax and financial planning service.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We've worked with customers all up and down the income stream. Dentist, Doctors, Business Owners, & and ordinary people who want/desire a more personal touch with their service provider.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recent event I am very fond off is helping a new client who after completing her taxes uncovered she didn't have life insurance for her two children in her and was able to help her out. It was confirmation, I was doing the right thing by going deeper than just pushing in numbers and moving to the next client.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Ask questions about thier experience, values, and if offer support outside of simply just doing your taxes.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Customers should think about what is important to them and what they are looking for. Cost is only an issue in the absense of value. If you just want someone to push in some numbers and little value other than that, commute that to them but if you're looking for more of a tax and financial advisor than think about this too.
