Core Values Counseling
About
Core Values Counseling has a focus and passion to help couples gain back the hope they once had in their relationship. Sabrina Walters our lead counselor is a fully certified Gottman Therapist with over 21 years of experience. We have different levels of Therapists that can take people from many different financial situations. We also do Marriage Conferences including Gottman's Art and Science of Love, weekend Intensives, and 3-hour seminars for understanding how each other is wired using the Core Values Index (CVI). We have men and women counselors and also offer Relationship Coaching. Our Protocols of how we handle intakes can be found on our website at CoreValuesCounseling.com.
We get excited when we see couples understand the heart of their partner. Then when they understand how they are wired which leads to them gaining hope and motivation in rebuilding their relationships.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For Couples, there will be four intake session. They will take the Core Values Index and relationship assessment before their first appointment. The first session is together after which they will take the Gottman assessment. The next two sessions are individual ones for each and the last is again together. At that time they will already have worked on some areas and have a plan to move forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sabrina is a Gottman Certified Therapist and I hold a Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from George Fox University and a Bachelors of Science in Music from Linfield College. Major coursework includes human growth and development, family and couples counseling, multicultural counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, spirituality, Gottman Couples Therapy, and the Core Values Index.
I am passionate about the development of skills and practices in others and fulfill this passion as an adjunct professor in the Masters of Counseling program at George Fox University as well as training counselors and coaches in the use of the Core Values Index.
