What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with a call to determine with the client what marketing issues they are looking to solve and if they have ideas of what elements - print or digital communications - they are looking for.
I have familiarity with many industries, B2B and B2C, and will research their marketplace as needed to gain additional current insights before providing a quote for design and marketing services. I have strategic partners for copywriting, photo/video, and web development if needed.
Available to meet by phone, zoom or in-person as needed. So much can be accomplished online and with PDFs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My education is in graphic design from Ray College of Design in Chicago, design management at Northern Illinois University and interior design at College of DuPage.
I have been a design professional for over 30 years, active in design, project and team supervision and client account service.

I quote each job or ongoing engagement based on the need, so it is custom for the company and not trying to fit into a set "package" for a certain price.
How did you get started in this business?
After my design education at Ray College of Design, I immediately began work as a professional designer and have worked at marketing and design firms and in-house at a major university creating all needed design there.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with professional associations and non-profits of many sizes, manufacturers and distributors, financial service firms, primary and secondary education groups, event venues and healthcare-related organizations.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Get to know the potential partner on a call or zoom to have at least a preliminary discussion about your organization, issues you are facing and the need that you have and see how the marketing professional responds and establish a comfort level with that person.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Consider your budget and expectations and a time frame for the deliverables to be able to share with a marketing and design professional. Being clear from the onset is key.
