Talk to the clinician and feel free to ask anything that might help you decide if they are a good fit for your needs.  The therapeutic relationship is the core piece that will help you open up and get help.  Trust your feelings about the therapist.  Do you feel comfortable talking?  Do they listen well and seem genuine and caring?  Do they have the kind of experience you are looking for?

What kind of help am I seeking?  What made me decide to seek the help now?
