About

Beyond my education and experience, my ability to establish rapport with diverse ages, genders and cultures is above reproach. Caring for other's health and well-being comes as a natural part of my daily mission in life. I have a beautifully brilliant 17 year old son with autism. He teaches me patience, hope and happiness every single day. I incorporate those valuable assets with my clients.

Tangella helped me through one of the most difficult times of my life when I had to juggle work, to be a caregiver to my mom w dementia and other health problems, and to raise a teenager all as a single mom and an only child. She helped me to stay focused and positive. On the days I would “lose it” she was a listening ear with no judgement. She is caring and cared about my entire well-being. I learned a lot about myself and how strong I truly am. I couldn’t have done that without her. I’m truly grateful our paths crossed!

Speaking with other counselors in the past I always felt like I had just complained about my life but never made any real progress on my issues. With Ms. Pilcher, I felt like I was heard, my feelings were validated but also that she wouldnt let me waste my sessions wallowing. I felt like I was making concrete steps towards improvement

    Frequently asked questions

I normally use our first meeting as an opportunity to establish rapport (a comfortable therapeutic relationship) with the client, determine their primary reason for seeking assistance and to address any questions or concerns that the client may have about the counseling process. There are times, however, that I must go along with my client's pace to ensure their level of comfort. That is what's most important.

Saturday- 11:00 am to 3:30 pm.

I prefer to meet with my clients at my office in Tampa, however, I will meet with clients at an agreed upon location outside of my office if they are not able to travel for the in office sessions.

I began my career in counseling 26 years ago in 1994 after earning a Bachelor's in Clinical and Community Psychology. Since then I've earned a Master's in Mental Health Counseling (2014). I also studied at the United States Army Academy of Health and Sciences, in San Antonio, Texas, in which I earned a Certificate of Completion in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling (1997). I practiced as an Army Psychiatric Specialist as well as an Army Combat Medic during my 6 year enlistment. I also provided my services to military personnel while deployed overseas in Kuwait.

My areas of specialty are dually diagnosed clients (clients with co-occuring substance abuse along with mental health disorders), managing anxiety, stress management, anger management, progressive relaxation, cognitive behavioral therapy, group therapy and mediation.

My standard fees range from $30 -$35 per session hour. There will be a $15.00 "no show" or "cancellation" fee assessed if the appointment is not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session.

***(The quoted fees are based on mileage, counseling materials, and additional expenses related to providing services, not for the actual counseling services rendered.)

**(I apologize for any inconvenience, but I do not accept insurance. Pay ment via Zelle, PayPal, Cash app or Cash only)

**(Fees may be adjusted based upon the client`s financial needs on a case by case basis.)

My desire to equip people with better coping skills and to ensure a more conducive quality of mental health began in early childhood when I was able recognize the importance of communication as it related to happiness and mental well-being. Since then, I have worked, and continue to work daily to sharpen my skills and educate myself on the most current psychological research so that I am able to provide the best possible therapeutic services to my clients.

I have worked with all ages, races, ethnic and socio-economic  backgrounds. I have comfortably provided services in many types of community settings. Those have included the homes of my clients, inpatient/outpatient  treatment settings, schools, jails, group homes, as well as state psychiatric hospitals.

I have experience working with military personnel, dually diagnosed clients, alcohol and drug cases, criminal and court related cases, children and families, couples and group therapy.

Recently, I was able to assist a client by providing them with tools to practice mindfulness and progressive muscle relaxation, along with breathing techniques to help them control and minimize their anxiety.

I would advise clients to ensure that they feel comfortable with their counselor. After the second or third session, if they are not feeling like they are building a comfortable therapeutic relationship with their counselor, or feel that they are not receiving the services that they believe they require, I would advise them to seek another counselor. It is important to have a therapeutic connection with your counselor in order to acquire effective therapy. So, do not feel badly if you have to shop around to ensure that your therapeutic needs are being met.

Clients should ensure that they are seeking counseling because they feel that they require counseling, and not because someone has pressured them into seeking services. They will need to assess if they are comfortable opening up and sharing their needs with the counselor. They should also ask themselves if they believe that they are ready and willing to put in the work that will be required help them reach their therapeutic goals.
