I’ve been a Tax Preparer/Bookkeeper/Payroll Assistant/Immigration Form Specialist for over 2 years now.

What I love about my job is that I can help my clients become more financially sound. They know where their numbers are each month, and I can identify to them where the problem areas are, and where the success areas are at, because there's no better feeling than helping someone with a problem and solving that challenge because when that happens, we get to be the superhero of the day. The look of gratitude on our clients' faces when we've helped them with their particular tax/bookkeeping dilemma is satisfying in its own right.

As a payroll assistant I need to be able to calculate the numbers related to payroll, including pre-tax and post-tax deductions, taxes, and net pay, but also need to be empathetic. Understanding the human element of the payroll process is key because as we’ve noted the fallout from getting it wrong has a direct impact on people’s lives!

As an immigration form specialist the most important benefit is that I can make a difference with my work. i get to help people as they go through an exciting, life-changing process. Offering support to people in need is extremely rewarding. This is a great way to support people within your own community. And the Best Best things is the satisfaction of see family being back together!!!
