About
I love being a certified Health and Life Coach. I've taken additional study to become an ISSA-Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. But what makes me stand out is I am also certified Spiritual Director, a DNA-Based Fitness Coach, and have re-specialized my life coaching into the fields of Love/Relationship, Career, Money, and Spirituality.
Counseling, grief counseling, and pre-marital counseling is what gets me out of bed every day. Besides the doctoral-level education and four years of clinical rotations doing chaplaincy, I consider counseling my vocation and ministry.
During clinical rotations, there was a psychiatric patient who would follow me around the unit, but she was unable to speak. I let her follow me unless I was having a confidential conversation with someone else. When she recovered from her trauma and regained the ability to speak, she came up to me to thank me. She said I was the only one who treated her like a person. Others were nice but didn't really "get" what she needed. This and other clinical "adventures" are what help me feel that I am making an impact everyday!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first session with a coaching client or spiritual directee is a free 15-minute consultation. Together, in our free meet-and-greet, you get to decide if we vibe as companions on the journey. After deciding to work together, the process then involves two 1-page forms, as well.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My formal education comes through the University of Chicago Divinity School through Meadville/Lombard, Hartford Seminary for religious studies and interfaith ministry, and Pacific School of Religion at Berkeley, where I completed the Doctorate of Ministry and the Certificate of Sexuality and Religion.
My coaching, spiritual counseling, and spiritual direction formation and certification come through programs at the Health Coach Institute, the International Sports Science Association's (ISSA), the Mercy Center (Madison, CT), the Urban Spirituality Center, and the Society of Certified Spiritual Directors which yielded the Advanced Practice Board Certified Spiritual Director (APBCSD®) credential.
Additional chaplaincy training includes 1,600 clinical hours from Stamford and Norwalk Hospitals (CT), making me eligible to be a Board Certified Chaplain.
Other designations include Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Senior Advisor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My spiritual directees pay an honorarium that is both comfortable and meaningful for them following our free intake session. Normally, my directees feel a $70-120 honorarium is meaningful.
My coaching clients pay $200-250 (sliding scale) per 45-minute individual session, depending on how many sessions they sign up for. Some insurances reimburse 100% for my health coaching services.
How did you get started in this business?
Parish ministry helps a pastor cultivate a handful of helpful skills. I also cultivated the ability to engage in long-term counseling and run spirituality groups as a healthcare chaplain in a long-term care facility, as a pastoral psychotherapist, and as a spiritual director/coach.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My coaching clients and spiritual directees range in lifestyle, from nonprofit guru to seminarian, from high-profile editor to struggling realtor.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Whether you're contacting me for spiritual direction or coaching, I'm going to ask you the same question: What is your personal mission? From there, everything else falls into place for my clients.
