About this pro

I'm a certified spiritual director, pastoral psychotherapist, life coach, health coach, and healthcare chaplain who walks with clients on their journey towards healing themselves. Accordingly, my practice truly integrates mind, body, and spirit.

I completed the Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, my divinity school was completed at the University of Chicago Divinity School through Meadville/Lombard, and I earned another master's degree in Jewish/Christian/Islamic studies from Hartford Seminary.

I walk with my client as they heal themselves. For life and health coaching clients, I help you (1) discover your hidden purpose, (2) let your new sense of purpose heal them/their organization, (3) bring your mission into focus in light of their inner healing, and (4) to communicate your central mission with clarity and urgency to the right people.

I have known and worked with Daniel for over three years. During this time, he has counseled and nurtured me through the death of my husband and my own personal spiritual journey. With compassion and gentle guidance, he helped me heal and find personal spiritual peace and growth. His many years of education and work experience make him the quintessential coach to select when searching for a counselor to work with. I am so grateful to Daniel for all that he has done for me.

He was warm, genuine, and caring yet very professional. He listened intently and carefully to what I said and provided helpful responses. In addition to comments and suggestions, he often asked questions that made me think more deeply about what I had brought up. His breadth of experience was extensive. He was very confident and inspired me to have confidence in myself. There was a time when I was in grieving over a significant loss. His compassion meant so much. He made me feel like I wasn't walking through my grief alone. I recommend Daniel whole-heartedly as a spiritual director and grief counselor.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My first session with a coaching client, spiritual directee, or pastoral psychotherapy companion is a free 15-minute consultation. Together in our free meet-and-greet, you get to decide if we vibe as companions on the journey. For counseling clients, the process involves two 1-page forms, as well.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My formal education comes through the University of Chicago Divinity School through Meadville/Lombard, Hartford Seminary for religious studies and interfaith ministry, and Pacific School of Religion at Berkeley, where I completed the Doctorate of Ministry and the certificate of sexuality and religion.

My coaching, spiritual counseling, and spiritual direction formation and certification come through programs at the Health Coach Institute, the International Sports Science Association's (ISSA) College of Exercise Science, the Mercy Center (Madison, CT), the Urban Spirituality Center, and the Society of Certified Spiritual Directors which yielded the Advanced Practice Board Certified Spiritual Director (APBCSD®) credential.

Additional chaplaincy training includes 1,600 clinical hours from Stamford and Norwalk Hospitals (CT), making me eligible to be a Board Certified Chaplain.

Other designations include Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Senior [Adult] Advisor.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

My spiritual directees pay an honorarium that is both comfortable and meaningful for them following our free intake session. Normally, my directees feel a $60-80 honorarium meaningful

My coaching and pastoral psychotherapy clients pay $120-150 (sliding scale) per 50-minute individual session or $75 per 50-minute group session. In Connecticut, which unlike other states does not license pastoral psychotherapists, I am out of network.

How did you get started in this business?

Parish ministry helps a pastor cultivate a handful of helpful skills. I also cultivated the ability to engage in long-term counseling and run spirituality groups as a healthcare chaplain in a long-term care facility, as a pastoral psychotherapist, and as a spiritual director/coach.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My coaching and pastoral psychotherapy clients and spiritual directees range in lifestyle, from nonprofit guru to seminarian, from high-profile editor to struggling realtor.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Whether you're contacting me for spiritual direction, coaching, or pastoral psychotherapy, I'm going to ask you the same question: What is your personal mission. From there, everything else falls into place for my clients.
