About
Life can be tough. Work, relationships, family - sometimes it gets to be too much. Don't go it alone. Let's create the life you really want. You deserve it. Whether it's help with depression or anxiety, trouble in your relationships, or children in crisis, I can help you find real answers, real solutions. I work with adolescents, to older adults. I have experience in treating childhood trauma, mood disorders, PTSD for veterans, marriage counseling and life transitions for older adults. Individual, couple and family sessions. Let's talk.
I am trained in child therapy. For children with severe severe neglect and abuse history, I can treat children as young as 6 yrs old. I do not treat behavioral issues with young children but I do provide parenting/counseling.
I take a compassionate approach to counseling, one that is authentic and trustworthy. Counseling is a partnership -you need someone who hears you, respects you and will support you. I take the extra time to provide resources, researching community links for whole person centered care.
I enjoy working with people- helping out, making life better for others. Nothing brings me greater joy and a sense of purpose. You gotta love love what you do. Otherwise, you will do it poorly.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we talk. By phone, in person. You choose. I want to hear what's troubling you; what you think you need. And, I want you to feel that I can help; that you are entering a safe place to be who you are without judgment. Once we have an idea of our goals, we formulate a treatment plan and schedule. And, I can help with checking on insurance coverage, find resources for medication or other social service needs, and even create a sliding scale for sessions when times are hard financially.

How did you get started in this business?
That's a long story. I guess i got interested in helping people as a young adult. In my first career, I was interested in policy and government service. While working on Capitol Hill for a Senator, I became involved in helping veterans and their families. That led me to return to grduate school after I left Wahington, D.C. with the hope of working with individuals and families again in counselign and social work. And so, here I am!
