Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I alway like to start with a phone or screen share chat and undertstand their needs and determine whether the project will be a one-off, or whether it may involve more work (long-term working relationship) down the road.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 years of experience in the field, in addition ot my training at the University I attended (Commercial Art degree). I've worked as a Production Artist, Graphic Designer, 2D/3D Animation Artist, and now a Multi-media Senior Designer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My rate is $40 an hour (industry standard) which includes two orunds of revions free of chrage.
How did you get started in this business?
I startede as a Production Artist for a weekly newspaper back in 2001, then the rest is history, as they say. I made it my mission to make the transition from a traditionally trained artist to a digital one around the turn of the Century, interestingly enough. Hope I'm not dating myself too much!
What types of customers have you worked with?
Everyone under the sun. Really, all industries--you name it.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Comicon Festivals and Ren Faires...always!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Peruse their website carefully, don't always go for the lowest bidder, consider experience, and set up a phone interview to determine if you feel they would be a good match.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
1. their availablilty
2. number of revisions
3. whether references are available upon request
4. their philosophy (to guage their comminication skills and thought process)
