About

My style of psychotherapy is to get involved and engaged. As I learn and understand people's needs and issues, I become more directive and assertive in working to find useful modes of helping and of building coping skills.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience. The theories I utilize are: Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive - Behavioral.

I feel priviledged and humbled as a psychotherpist. People share with me their difficult aspects of self and complexity of famly and relationships. Building trust with people who come for help in difficult times is a big part of what I enjoy about my work.

Ive been to a number of different psychologists over the years. Eti has been the best for me. Felt like talking to a friend from the outset...a friend who gives exceptionally good advice. Hes very responsive, willing to work with my scheduling needs, replying to emails on the weekends or after hours (not something I expect of anyone, by any means). He once emailed something for me to read as a followup to a conversation that we had. He seems to have an encyclopedic memory of whats been discussed in past sessions and the names of the important people in my life. Hes real and willing to say real things. That last point is the main reason that Eti is my favorite. Hes willing to go off script in order to say the right thing if he thinks it will help me out. And that has been tremendously helpful as Ive navigated a number of changes over the past couple years. Anyway, TL;DR: Eti rocks ;-)

I saw Eti for several years and strongly recommend him as a therapist. He helped get me through some difficult periods of transition in my life and I am eternally grateful for his words of wisdom and for his kind and gentle guidance. He is a superb listener who will never forget anything you tell him. I dont understand how he does not have more reviews but he certainly should.

    Frequently asked questions

Generally the way to start therapy is to contact me by phone, email, text.  We then set up a first session and discuss whether we are a good fit to start working together.  A small amount of paperwork in needed as we get started.
