To explain David’s work is to explain the work of servant leader.
David, quite literally, saved my life. I was a young 18yo high school graduate when I met David with a heavy load of anxiety, PTSD, and depression. I had no direction or idea of how to deal with what I was going through just that I couldn’t function. I was starting college and it was crucial I get help.
David was the sole person that I felt safe with and that I relied on to get me through my first year. He really opened my eyes and taught me about myself and how to process and get better with everything. I was even desperate to get on medication, that’s how bad it was. But David is the one who gave me a breakdown of what the medication is, how it works, how it’s suppose to help and the drawbacks. He encouraged me to try to work with him first for 6 months before taking medications, and I’m so thankful he did! Most therapists would not do that. I never ended up taking it and I’m so glad I didn’t stuck on it.
David had my best interest from the start and truly took his time to help me. David is also incredibly knowledgeable is always doing more reading on recent research, staying up to date about psychological concepts. David doesn’t give BS answers, he gives the truth and the science of what’s going on with you and your mind. He’s logical and it makes sense!
I’m 25 now and I still talk to David but less frequently, and had I not had David to go to when I was 18, I wouldn’t be in the place I am without him.
I never believed I could get better when I was 18, I thought this was just who I am and I’ll never be better, but he guided me that I could. It took a lot, and I mean A LOT of work, but he was there guiding me through it all.
And the fact that I talk to David a couple times a year vs every week is truly a sign that David’s work works. David always said “the less you need to talk to me the better. The goal is to equip you with the ability to navigate this in your own without me.” That’s when you know you have a good therapists because their goal is not make money from you but to help you until you don’t need them anymore.
    Thank you David.

    Frequently asked questions

We start with, "What would you like?" and go from there. You'd be surprised how provocative a question that is. Ask yourself now, "What would you like?" And then ask, "What will having THAT do for you?" Keep going. Continue to ask yourself, "What will having THAT do for you?" of every "What would you like?" question, until you can't answer any more. So, what would you REALLY like? Call and let me know. We'll go from there. Your desire for what you want is what will inform our inquiry, rather than what you have been struggling with. What you'd like will get you to realizing it more readily.

My interest in helping people began with my own healing journey after a period of deep depression following a divorce. I was so despairing of life I felt as if I could not ever feel better or hopeful or motivated or inspired to do anything. I turned to spirituality because I wasn't employed well enough to afford healthcare that would cover expenses of therapy. I found a church that was helpful and the leader was a gifted counselor. Within two years I felt spiritually restored and my life was restored as well despite the fact that the relationship wasn't reconciled. I was so impressed with how profound the relief was that came that I wanted to help people in the same way. That was in 1988. I studied all the spiritual counseling and counseling psychology books I could get my hands on and eventually went back to school in 1995. By 2021 I had transferred from Cairn University In Pennsylvania to CIIS in San Francisco, California and studied Integral Studies with an emphasis on Transpersonal and Integral Psychology. I also became very aware of the importance of the engagement of mind/ body (emotions and body sensations) in the therapeutic process. I began working as a mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) counselor with PRC Baker Places, (formerly Baker Places) Acceptance Place, an up to ninety day treatment facility in 2006. That same year I discovered NLP and began training in Transformational NLP in Marin, (NLP Marin). NLP Marin also had a Family Constellation facilitation training which I completed as well as the Master Level NLP certification program by 2010. All the while, I had been practicing with the clients I worked with in the recovery program. By then I had launched my private coaching practice and have been growing it ever since. I continue to learn new modalities that add ongoing value to the skills I have developed over the years. And I am grateful to be able to have realized my dream to be able to give the same level of transformation experience that I was so desperately in need of myself once upon a time. I had no idea life could be so rewarding and rich. I look forward to sharing my experience with you.
I offer a free initial 45 minute phone consultation to make sure we both feel like we're a good fit to work together. Once we agree to begin working together, I invite you to begin to invest $125 each 90 minute session of your new life transformation. I can't accept insurance at this time but if you seek a psychotherapist that can charge your insurance for therapy and they recommend hypnotherapy sessions for you, they can refer you to me, and you may be able get reimbursed for some percentage of out of pocket costs for our sessions if you have a flexible spending account as part of your employers health insurance benefits. It's worth looking into. If that doesn't work, I am willing to work with what you can afford and offer a true sliding scale based on your income and expenses if that's needed.
