Frequently asked questions

Searching for someone to share your most private thoughts and feelings can be intimidating.  Please know that I offer a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to share.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California.  I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling from Antioch University, Santa Barbara and my doctoral degree, PsyD from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  My experience includes working with parents who have a child diagnosed with Autism.  In addition I have worked with individuals and couples who have a substance abuse concern. I also have helped women who are experiencing struggles with the changes life brings to their lives.

My initial intake fee for 90 minutes is $175.00

A 55 minute session for individuals is $150.00

i also offer an on going 90 minutes session for couples or individuals for$170.00

I began working as a counselor/therapist while in school.

i found that working with couples is both challenging and rewarding, for all involved.

Life brings all sorts of changes and transitions, some unwelcome.

My goal is to help an individual or a couple adjust to whatever is challenging them.

i have worked with couples, facing communication issues, and not having the time nor patience to really listen and work things out.

I have seen couples and individuals who have a child diagnosed with Autism.  I believe that is a stressor on a marriage, but love, listening, patience and help can make the marriage last.

Women in transition can find a safe, empathetic listener in coming to see me.  Changes are a part of live we can’t avoid.

We get older, don’t quite look or feel the way we want to feel.

Letting go of past expectations and embracing our age and life experience can make age not so intimidating

As you search for a therapist/counselor, I would suggest asking for a 15 minute free initial phone session.  I believe that in that phone time you will be able to make a good decision on who you would like to work with.

1.  What do I hope to gain from seeing a counselor?

2.  Am I willing and able to voice my true problems and concerns to this person?

3.  Am I willing to do some work, maybe keep a journal, etc?

4. Am I expecting a quick fix?
