About
NO DCFS CLIENTS. This is not a counseling service for mental health needs. This is a 26-52 week domestic violence class for perpetrators to complete court mandates. You can live anywhere and still attend because classes are all online.
Dismiss the Rage, Don't engage was formerly mending broken wings. It is a Company developed based on the community needs for individuals to complete domestic violence court mandates. We have been in business for 10 years. We are currently online and use zoom. The classes are offered in spanish/English. We are on the waiting probation list and awaiting to be approved. The classes remain at a low cost and no registration fee. Dismiss the Rage implements anger management in every class ,reviews different types of domestic violence, including the signs of a toxic relationship and other factors involved. I have a MASTERS degree in Marriage and Family, certificated in perpetrators and victims of domestic violence. During difficult times it is clear healthy relationships are begun by making better decisions during times of stress than act out on anger.
We offer parenting classes on a as needed basis.
Each class I learn more and more. It is important to learn and listen. I do not have all the answers but I do research before I come to class. Each class has a curriculum developed based on a theme related to domestic violence. We discuss current crimes involved in domestic violence and many types of cultures including NFL, authority occupations, family culutre etc. I do research and prepare powerpoints so everyone can follow in english/spanish. This helps me explain better. We use ACRONYMS/ RO, Restraining order, EPO, Emergency Restraining Order, DV, Domestic violence, Perp Perpetrator to help clients understand the purpose of the lesson, etc. I love when a client can use some of the strategies taught in class and share about their experiences to avoid a toxic interaction.
