About

I am a Michigan Registered Independent Advisor. That means I act as a fiuciary to all of my clients - in other words, I am committed to always putting my clients' interest first. As a fiduciary, I do not earn commisions but only asset management or hourly fees. I offer a free initial consulation and I provide a free comprehensive financial plan when I manage finacial assets. Finally, I am flexible in communicating with clients. I will travel to meet them, they can come to my office, by phone or electronically. Finally, my fees are very reasonable and I am willing to work with clients with modest amount of assets.

I have a passion for following financial markets and finding solutions for my clients. I feel a great accomplishment when I can assist a person to improve their financial situation.

Frequently asked questions

If Bowen Financial Planning LLC is asked by a client to manage their assets or to give financial advice, we first gather the client’s financial information and then meet with the client to discuss financial goals and specific objectives or dollar amounts for each goal.  Once the client’s risk profile is determined, modern portfolio theory is used to determine an investment strategy with an optimal allocation of assets (e.g., 60% stocks and 40% bonds) that will deliver adequate future returns to meet objectives and offer an appropriate amount of risk or volatility for the client’s risk profile.  We believe that the appropriate allocation of assets across diverse investment categories (i.e. stock vs. bond, foreign vs. domestic, large cap. vs. small cap., high quality vs. high yield, short-term vs. long-term bonds, etc.) is the primary determinant of portfolio returns and risk and is critical to the long-term success of a client meeting his or her financial objectives and goals.

After my lifelong interest in finance and investing, I decided to pursue an M.S. in Finance and Economics and I graduated in 2013.  The following year I created my company.

I have worked with individuals who work or are retired.

I would suggest that a potential customer would ask the pro if they are a fiduciary and how they are reimbursed.  I believe a financial advisor or planner who is paid by only fees and not by commissions has less potential for conflicts when advisng a client.
