Relationship Therapy Of Madison
About
Clients who work with me very quickly feel relaxed and confident that I will listen and understand each partner. They know I will not take sides and that their own experiences are valued and discussed. My clients feel supported and safe. This approach allows us to be curious together, gain insights, and learn new ways of relating.
While I mainly see clients who are in a relationship and who come to therapy together, my focus includes working with individuals who wish to enhance or improve their ability to create and/or maintain a fantastic relationship.
I am honored to be part of vulnerable conversations where partners can be honest and authentic. When my clients get to this place, the work can happen. I have had struggles in relationships in the past so I know this can be difficult. I also know how great it can be to finally be able to say what needs to be said, even if you worry it's too hard. I guide partners to be real with each other with kindness and respect, to be self accountable, and to ask for what is needed. Couples I work with appreciate my straightforward, fearless, and gentle style.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically speak with new clients for a 15 minute complimentary phone call to assess fit between us. If we decide to move forward, we will schedule our first telehealth session (typically within 1-2 weeks), the clients will be added to my portal and sent new client forms. These include information about my practice, partner intake forms and assessments, and credit card information for future payments. Our work begins during the time each partner takes to complete these forms, which include your having a chance to tell your story, describe what's working and what's not working, and tell me how you think I can help. At this time, all appointments are telehealth via a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am trained as a marriage and family therapist. I have training in the Gottman Method as well as Emotionally Focused Therapy. More information about my background and approaches are on my website.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My clients appreciate the ability to have support in their relationships without needing a mental health diagnosis. They believe their relationship is worth as much as other self care such as eating out, having a massage or going to see a show.
I do not take insurance. My current rate is on my website under the "investment" tab

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
When you read about prospective therapists, I would suggest trying to imagine if you would feel comfortable having honest and forthcoming discussions about yourself and your relationship. In my experience, comfort and a feeling of ease are needed to truly show up and do the work of creating the changes you wish to see and experience. Dedication and a willingness to speak freely will help you reach your relationship goals; I'd be honored to support you in this process.
