About
My philosophy when it comes to tax planning, is that everyone's situtation is different. One strategy will not work for everyone. I get to konw my clients short term and long term goals and then come up with a strategy that helps achieve those goals.
What i love most about my job is meeting so many interesting people. I get to surround myself with creative, curious, intelligent people. I get to hear their stories of how they got to where they are and where they want to go.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with a new customer is to schedule either a phone call or a in-person meeting to get to know a little bit about them, their current financial and tax situtation, what they are struggling with, what they want to accomplish, what they are looking for in a CPA, etc. Then if we both feel like it's a good fit, then we come up with a plan that fits their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Portland and a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
I have over a decade of experience working at a large regional firm in Portland, Oregon and at a smaller local firm in Bend, Oregon before branching out on my own.
How did you get started in this business?
While in college I took an audit class and did not like it at all but really enjoyed my tax class. I liked how tax is a combination of accounting and law. You need to understand how to interpret court cases to fully understand the tax law because, like everything, the law isn't always black and white.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with large banks, small start-up businesses, multi-million dollar families, families who trying to get back on their feet and everything inbetween.
I enjoy working with the small to mid size businesses, entrepreneurs, and familes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advise for someone looking to hire a CPA is to find someone that you trust and communicate well with. If you don't trust your CPA, you will second guess any advice he/she gives you and your relationship will suffer.
