About

Kay is a graduate of Cortiva Institute of Massage and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. She has been a massage therapist for over five years, specializing in athletic, rehabilitation and relaxation massage.

Massage Modalities include, Deep Tissue: Deep tissue massage is best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff "trouble spots" in your body. The slow deliberate strokes and pressure focus on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep below the skin’s surface. Deep tissue massage can be quite therapeutic –relieving chronic patterns of tension and helping with muscle injuries.

Myofascial Release: Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

Neuromuscular Techniques: Neuromuscular therapy is a form of soft tissue manipulation that aims to treat underlying causes of chronic pain involving the muscular and nervous systems. This medically-oriented form of massage addresses trigger points, circulation, nerve compression, postural issues, and biomechanical problems that can be caused by repetitive movement injuries.

Pregnancy: During pregnancy, your body goes through major changes. Pregnancy massage can help with these changes by reducing stress, decreasing arm and leg swelling, and relieving muscle and joint pain. Using the specially designed massage pillows will help with positioning for this type of massage.

Sports: Developed to help with muscle systems used for a particular sport, sports massage uses a variety of approaches to help athletes in training - before, during, or after sports events. Sport massage can be used to promote flexibility, help prevent injuries, or aid in healing post sports injury.

Swedish: Swedish massage therapy is the most common type of massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.

One of the reasons I am passionate about massage therapy is because I believe it allows me to better myself by improving the health of others. Through massage I have been able to nurture, support, and help heal others and to me this is truly rewarding.
