What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start with a free consultation to determine my client's needs. We talk through their expectations and set a schedule to achieve those expectations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have more than 30 years' experience as an accountant. A Master's Degree in Business Management with Accounting Specialization. I have been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor since 2005 and am also a Notary in Thurston County.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer to charge on a flat rate scale. This allows my clients to budget for accounting services.
How did you get started in this business?
I have always enjoyed working with people and this profession allows me to help small businesses to grow.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many different types of clients including construction, retail stores, service organizations and non-profit organizations.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Sitting through an audit with a client and we were able to show all the IRS wanted to see. The client ended up with no additional charges or penalties.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Prepare a test to prove their abilities or ask for references. Too often people claim to know accounting when they really have very little experience.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Work to be performed, amount of time necessary to perform the required work, availability of pro and fee schedule.
