About

I love journeying with people, helping them thrive, despite their circumstances. I like to help people dream, celebrate life and find meaning in whatever circumstance they find themselves. I have many years of clinical experience, not to mention life experience, which gives a rich perspective for clients.

I love working with all ages: adolescents, children and families as well as elderly individuals. Additionally, I love working with couples who are working to improve their relationships. Furthermore, I have worked with individuals with disabilities and enjoy helping anyone who can benefit from therapeutic support.

I have background in CBT, DBT, ACT and motivational interviewing. I have worked both in mental health and in the area of addiction. There's not much I haven't done clinically speaking. I look forward to meeting you!

    Frequently asked questions

Therapy begins with the intake process, which can be done at the office or remotely. Ideally, this occurs in person, but it can be done virtually.  Next we work to develop a treatment plan, address any safety issues (if relevant), and then the work begins.

I have a MS from Loyola College of MD in Counseling Psychology with a Clinical Concentration. I am a LMHC with the state of Washington. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor through NBCC.  Additionally, I have a MEd. in Special Education, and a lot of experience working with individuals with various disabilities.

I accept Premera, BCBS and Regence as my primary insurance providers. I am open to doing self-pay for clients as well.

I accepted a position at Grafton School in Virginia upon graduating from HS and worked there full time for many years while completing my undergraduate work and first graduate degree.  This experience, working with children and adolescents, fueled my interest in the counseling profession.  I also did a lot of extensive outdoor therapeutic work in the Shenandoah Mountains with my students/residents - many long hikes, many wonderful adventures - camping in the Virginia Beach area, etc.

Adults, teens, children, families, couples with a myriad of different life issues (too numerous to rename) - Refer to the Psychology Today profile.

I love nature and think it is an essential part of well-being; Disconnecting from the tablet/internet and communing with nature

Are they experienced. With experience comes wisdom. Are they humble?

I think you should come as you are and be yourself. Be transparent. Values are important. Find someone who matches them. I think values are more important than a list of accomplishments! Find your right fit!
