EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO ARRANGE THEIR AFFAIRS IN SUCH A WAY AS TO PAY THE LEAST TAX POSSIBLE. TAXES ARE AN ENFORCEABLE EXACTION NOT A VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION. MANY OF MY CLIENTS COME TO ME FROM OTHER STATES. THERE IS NO NEED TO COME INTO AN OFFICE AND WAIT. MY CLIENTS SEND THEIR TAX INFORMATION TO ME EITHER BY USPS 2nd DAY (I WILL PAY THE POSTAGE BOTH WAYS) OR THEY SEND THE INFORMATION VIA FAX OR ENCRYPTED EMAIL.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have an initial conversation to allow the client to ask any questions and determine the correct filing status, dependents (if any), potential deductions and credits. I will establish expectations as to time frames and cost.
I believe it is very important for a potential client to interview me so we can establish a good working relationship.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been preparing personal income taxes for over 30 years.
I received my initial training with H & R Block in Torrance, CA. I worked as a preparer for about 5 years and then took a position with them as a District Manager in the Culver City area where I continued to do personal taxes as well as hired and trained tax preparers. I left Block after a few years and established my own practice. I am a registered tax preparer taking IRS mandated courses annually.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My prices are determined by the number and type of forms that need to be completed. I have the cost of each form programmed into my software. As a result I can tell my client the cost of preparation up front.
How did you get started in this business?
I took a course with H&R Block in Torrance CA. I was looking for information to help me prepare my own taxes but when the class was completed I was asked if I wanted to work as a tax preparer. I accepted the position and after about 5 years I took the position as District Manager for them in the Culver City, CA area. As District Manager not only did I hire and train new preparers but I also continued to prepare taxes when there were people waiting.
