Elizabeth Greene, M.Ed., Resident In Counseling
About
As a combat veteran of the U.S. Army, I take pride and specialize in working with members of the military, veterans and their families. I also specialize in working with adults, couples, families and children. I have considerable experience in working with those experiencing symptoms of PTSD, stress, depression, anxiety, & mood disorders. Counseling may improve your physical, mental, spiritual well-being, as well as personal and professional relationships. My goal is to make the counseling process as welcoming as possible in a collaborative way that can serve to further uncover your mental & emotional challenges and strengths.
I also provide support to those who are seeking to rebuild self-esteem, self-image, & maneuver their way through life transitions. My primary treatment modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); however, I also integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution Focused modalities to help you explore the way that you think, feel, act and communicate.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I currently service clients in the state of Virginia. Contact me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to discuss services. If you decide to move forward with scheduling, we will work together to identify a date and time for your session. I offer flexible appointments throughout the day, Monday-Saturday.
I will then send you consent forms to complete electronically. Once we get you on the calendar, I will email you a portal invitation. On the portal, you will create a login, fill out new patient documentation, access the webcam sessions, as well as maintain payment information and billing receipts.
All sessions are virtual (online). My rates reflect my flexible availability. I offer late appointments daily until 9pm, Monday-Friday. The one time intake session for couples is 90 minutes long and is currently being offered at a reduced rate of $135 ($30 off the regular rate of $165). After the initial intake session, each couples session is 55 minutes ($120) and/or 30 minutes ($75). Individual sessions with one member of the couple is 55 minutes ($100) and/or 30 minutes ($65). I also offer 30 minutes emergency sessions as needed based on availability.
Please note that I do not accept/bill any insurance directly, as such I am considered an “out-of-network” counseling provider. Many clients pay out of pocket and later submit their therapy receipts to their insurance company after-the-fact for partial reimbursement (please check with your insurance provider for specifics). I ensure that your receipts are set up with all the codes needed (family therapy and individual therapy codes are insurance billable codes) if you are interested in submitting for reimbursement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently a licensed resident in counseling (RIC) under supervision in the state of Virginia.
I have a master's degree with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from a CACREP accredited institution.
I have more than 15 years experience in the mental health profession.
