How did you get started in this business?
In 2015 I launched my business Leave it to Lesley, which provides business support and project management services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. That business grew into LI2L Consulting Group which provides those same services for corporate and government entities.
With years of experience preparing tax returns for familiy and friends, I then branched into learning how to process more complex business returns. From there my tax preparation service, LI2L Financial Services was born.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with personal filers, small businesses, entrepreneurs and corporate entities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I used to prepare taxes through a tax franchise service. However I found the fees to be quite expensive for the average filer. I decided to go through more extensive tax preparation training and directly register with the IRS. I am now able to set more transparent, budget friendly pricing for my clients as a result.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure that the tax pro that you choose is the right fit for your situation. Be honest and transparent regarding any information that you provide for the preparation of your taxes.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
In situations where dependents are concerned, be sure that you have permission to carry those dependents and that no one can or has claimed them.
