What is your typical process for working with a new client?

1. Discuss the situation with the client. 2. Contact the IRS to make sure that what the client thinks is the problem is the whole problem. 3. Fix the problem 4. Help the client understand how to best plan for a better outcome in the future.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We are Enrolled Agents. That means that we are licensed by the IRS to represent people and defend their rights.

Do you have a standard pricing system? If so, please share the details here.

There is no pricing system; we charge depending on what work needs to be done.

How did you get started?

I got married in 1985. A friend of the family prepared my taxes in 1986. I got audited in 1987 and did not enjoy it at all. That's when I decided to learn the tax system so I could know how the system works.

Now I helping others understand the system so they can take advantage of all the tax breaks that are available to them.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with individuals, businesses, large debts and small.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

A man came into my office with a letter from the IRS saying he owed $3.9 Million Dollars! He was shocked and terrified. By the time we were finished, not only did he not owe $3.9 Million Dollars, the IRS owed HIM $600! Not a bad outcome.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a professional in your area of expertise?

While education is a good thing, talk to the professional and get a feel for his comfort level in dealing with the IRS. There are many people who are too scared to actual fight for you. Find someone who is comfortable fighting for you and will not take no for an answer, if you are in the right.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their needs?

How much experience do you have with the IRS?

How close to the line will you go on deductions? Do you play it safe or go for the maximum deduction?

What is your success rate with Offers in Compromise?
