About

At Kaizen Center for Mental Health, we believe the role of therapy is to help you reconnect with and create a meaningful life. This includes learning to accept inevitable emotional pain and difficult thoughts. We would love to help you move forward and change for the better. We accept most insurance plans.

HOW WE CAN HELP

Our counseling center has multiple therapists who each have specialized training in their own areas of expertise including: anxiety, depression, trauma, men’s issues, women’s issues, grief/loss, and life transitions for adults or adolescents. We also offer expertise for those struggling with substance use disorder who have participated in substance abuse treatment programs and continue to need support with aftercare and outpatient counseling. Our intake team will work closely to match you with a therapist who is the best fit for your unique needs. Our staff has years of advanced training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mind-Body Bridging, EMDR, and other trauma approaches. We have working relationships with medical healthcare professionals, knowledge and experience with a variety of support groups for trauma and addiction recovery, and a cohesive understanding of the variables necessary to recover from mental health disorders. If you are struggling and need support on your journey, we can help.

We love watching clients we serve to learn new skills to handle painful emotions and experiences differently. Once we become more skilled our emotional pain can hold less influence over our behaviors and we can begin building a life of dignity and purpose after a time of struggle.

One of our founders Chase Wickersham, shares his story and that of Kaizen Center for Mental Health here at this link: https://kaizencenter.org/chase-wickersham/

Kaizen Center for Mental Health is a multi-specialty private practice that offers counseling services for a variety of specialties. These include: addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, life transitions, grief and loss, chronic pain, spirituality issues, men's issues, women's issues. We also offer group therapy sessions as the community requires. Please learn more at kaizencenter.org.

Any time a client learns new skills to show up differently to life's inevitable pain, learning to pivot the energy of avoiding pain into building a life - it reminds all of us why we became mental health professionals.

Do your research. There is no pressure if the first therapist you contact is not a good fit. Our team will work hard to match you with a therapist to your specific needs or we will refer you to another provider we trust to do a better job if your need is outside of our skill set.

What do you hope therapy will allow you to change in your life? How will your behavior change in a way that people could know that therapy was working for you? What would others see in your behavior, your demeanor? If your problem was solved, how would you spend your time differently?

For example, if you no longer had social anxiety, what would you do that you have avoided?

One of our therapists, Chase Wickersham, LCSW, shares that "before therapy, one of the things I was most afraid of was public speaking and that grew to virtually any social interaction. For a long time, I was terrified of public speaking and attending many social events. So I avoided them. I did not know how to show up to emotional pain so I just avoided things that made it worse..."

If this sounds like something you could use help with - even if the symptoms you are facing are different day to day or stay the same for a long time - whether it is depression, or trauma, or addiction or any number of other issues - we all share that we want to avoid pain and seek relief - often in ways that limit how we live a meaningful life.

If you have been trying to solve a problem in your life and feel trapped, call us at 801 416 0862 or visit kaizencenter.org to book an appointment with a licensed therapist. We accept most insurance plans. If we can't find a therapist who is a good match for you we can help connect you with someone who is.
