Frequently asked questions

To achieve the best results it is essential the counselor and client both feel good about the relationship.

I offer a $25 fifty five minute introductory session for new clients so all involved can make certain they feel comfortable.

All payments are the responsibility of the Client.

I do not directly bill insurance companies.  I do provide a reciept after each session which has all the needed codes, diagnositic information, etc. needed for the client to turn into thier insurance to get reimbursement.

I have found, as a small service, the myriad of Insurance companies and thier esoteric forms, and requirements makes working with them very difficult.  It has been my experience the Insurance Companies are far more responsive to thier policy holders than to a small counseling service.

After deciding Law was too confrontational for my personal preference, I decided to work in a helping profession.

My first experience in counseling was during my undergraduate work at the University of Wisconsin where I worked in a Women's Half Way House at Taycheedah State Prison.

I found that experience personally rewarding and have been helping people every since.

I have enjoyed assisting a broad variety of individuals from disparate backgrounds including:

·        *  Couples and families of all types;

·       *   Juveniles and female adults incarcerated in secure facilities;

·       *  Developmentally Disabled / Mentally Retarded individuals, where in addition to case work, I established DDMR Services Advisory Panels for the State of Utah in the Northern Counties;

·       *  Children from age 3 up;

·        *  Tweens and Teens;

·       *  Adults including those in their 90’s;

I have successfully assisted clients dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, addictions including internet and pornography addictions; phobias such as agoraphobia; professional and family conflict; agoraphobia and other such maladies.

I assist clients using a broad array of skills learned through extensive regular and continuing education and refined through experience.  Some techniques include:

*  Traditional Behavioral Therapy;

*  EMDR Therapy;

*  Conflict Resolution;

*  Reunification Therapy;

*  Balance Model of Expectations and Investments Application;

and a host of other approaches specifically tailored to individual situations.

After assisting a client over a number of years deal with inherent internal conflicts untimately ending in gender reassignment in the client's 20's...this person's mother told me "you saved my child's life".  No higher complement is possible.
