Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we'll talk on the phone about your concerns and goals. If we feel like we're a good fit to work together, we'll set up an appointment. If not, I can help you find a therapist that's a better fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and am fully licensed as a therapist. I have attended specialty trainings for trauma, couples therapy, and addiction.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Because diagnoses are required for insurance, therapists who accept insurance are pressured to diagnose in the first session and these aren't often accurate. Diagnoses can have serious implications in a person's life including qualifying for insurance, and even having certain careers. In order to better serve my clients, all of whom don't necessarily fit into a diagnostic category covered by insurance, I choose to not accept insurance. Instead, I see clients on a sliding scale of $95-$125 per session. I do accept HSA cards
How did you get started in this business?
A lot of factors lead me to this field. My dad is an addiction psychiatrist and I'm sure his work stirred up my interest in people and neuroscience, leading me to be curious about human psychology. At the same time, I had trauma in my life and have seen many therapists, some of which weren't great and some of which were and are incredible and life changing. As a therapist I get to mix my love of psychology with my desire to pay forward the help I have received.
What types of customers have you worked with?

All genders and gender non-conforming people

Addiction
Relationship issues
