About
Hello. My name is Melody E Bergloff CPA with experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation for small-to-mid-size businesses and individuals since 2007.
You can get your bookkeeping and tax preparation done right from the comfort of your home or office. I have spent years creating a virtual practice, helping clients from several different states. I enjoy the work and interaction from you. I do not have set hours during the day so clients contact me all the time. You can call, text or email me your questions any time.
My main goal is to provide as much convenience for you as possible while helping you get organized with your books and get your taxes done.
Please contact me with any questions you have.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically when meeting a new client, we first speak and discuss what services are needed. Once I have an idea, I go over all options of providing data and documentation digitally. My clients have 24/7 access to all paperwork provided right from their computers.
Simultaneously, we go over what fees or range of fees they can expect from me. I do not send surprise invoices. I also don't send invoices for general questions throughout the year from time doing research. If regular consultation is needed, we discuss those fees separately.
Once services are laid out, documentation inquiries are figured out and fees are discussed, then the work can get started.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2007, I earned my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Accounting. I am a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). For 7 years, I worked for public and corporate accounting before turning my focus on the business.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Typically for bookkeeping, I set up a monthly fee for my clients. That way, the client knows the exact cost for the whole year. If that ever needs to be adjusted, it is discussed first.
Services for tax return preparation are given a range based on a brief explanation from the client on what I can expect.
How did you get started in this business?
My dad is a CPA. My brother followed in his footsteps first and also became a CPA. I took my first accounting class in college and knew right away it was a perfect fit for me. I followed in my dad's footsteps as well and obtained my CPA license. Ironically, I ended up marrying a future CPA (he's currently sitting for the exams). So basically, it was in my blood. Haha
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with small-to-mid-size businesses, which includes sole proprietorships, single member LLCs, Corporations and S Corporations. I have also worked with many individuals. I've worked with all types of industries. Some of them are real estate, hair salons, entertainment, photography, law, religion, arcades, mary kay consultants, esthetics, construction, and so much more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Today, I spoke with a new client. Each time that happens, it makes my day! It's like having another friend and I enjoy helping friends with their books and taxes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Bookkeeping Services:
Highly, I do recommend finding a bookkeeper that not only understands financials, but also tax. The financials ultimately impact your taxable income. Hiring a bookkeeper that knows the process from reconciliation to the tax return can make a huge difference. I do recommend a licensed CPA because the experience behind that license provides that critical connection.
Tax Services:
Of course, you want to find someone with a CPA license. With that license, you want to seek help from someone who has years of experience, especially in public accounting.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
A good question to ask themselves is who can successfully answer their questions? Clients don't always know what information to gather for bookkeeping or tax work. It can feel daunting. Talking to a pro should help clear that up.
Another question can be who will be a good fit? Do personalities mesh well? Does the pro respond timely? You want to feel like your pro cares about you, cares what matters most to you, and understands your needs.
