Vann and Associates provide one-of-a-kind support groups for teachers, school counselors, and trauma-informed yoga for women, teen girls, 1st responders, and Veterans.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During our thorough Intake process that looks at the big and small picture with how both interact with one another, we help our clients develop their goals with a recommended game plan. clients are active participants throughout the entire process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a clinician working in a variety of settings from state hospitals to private hospitals, the non-profit sector, outpatient clinics, and in private practice since 1998. Known as a Global Authority in the Prevention and Treatment of Self-injury, I have written 4 books on the topic, spoken Internationally on the matter, and regarded by the DFW community as the "go to" person on that topic.
In addition, having run a successful full-time private practice since 2008, I am able to assist businessmen and women faced with work-life balance while using terminology or allegories that they can relate to. Having been professionally coached by several millionaires and celebrity entrepreneurs, I am able to offer unique insights that other practitioners are not as equipped to provide.
Finally, I am an International Speaker and Media Commentator on a variety of topics. Having been a professional speaker since 2000, I am able to help clients who struggle with performance issues on the stage or in the classroom. With the use of visualization exercises, statements, and getting to the core issue of the anxiety, clients are better able to conquer their stressor.

How did you get started in this business?
There are many reasons why someone decides to become a counselor. A possible client may read this and may have had some unfortunate experiences with some treatment professionals who may have not gone into the field for the best reasons or maybe were not as prepared as they should have been. At Vann and Associates, counselors are thoroughly screened to ensure the best quality professional possible, which includes making sure that they enter the field to serve others to the best of their professional ability and have a passion for learning.
As the founder of Vann and Associates, I knew from the time I was in 6th grade that I wanted to be a counselor. Throughout the years, no matter how I tried to look at other fields, counseling always came to the forefront of my skill set. From an early age, I seemed to have been given the ability to listen, quickly comprehend, and assist with practical tips or solutions. It is a skill set that has served my clients, my interns, and my professional peers. Many people have told me that, while they do not know exactly why, they are able to let their guard down with me and that they rarely do that with anyone else. It would be a privilege to assist you on your walk towards reaching your utmost potential.
