Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is a process of discovery we like to go through with new clients. Basically, we learn as much about the person, the company and what their goals are for the project or projects they have in mind. Before starting work we like to have service agreements or a full scope of work in place so everyone is on the same page.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With over 20 years of experience, from commercial printing to UI/X design our combined skills create a unique toolbox to pull from for our clients. It is important for our company to stay informed from the print world to the digital. Industry publications are just the tip of the iceberg of our day to day quest to be competitive and useful to the broad needs of our clients.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do not publish our rates which is standard practice among most agencies. Each project is approached with the budget needs of the client in mind alongside the needs of work. LFD is always competitive with our pricing and the services we can offer.
How did you get started in this business?
Having grown up in a house with an art teacher and mathematician as parents, I have gained insight into both the organic and linear side of design work. With 20+ years of experience in the printing, advertising, and marketing industries I along with my husband Brad made the bold decision to create LiquidFly Designs. My graphic design practice is based around each client's desire to grow their business while accurately branding themselves, their products and services. Creating a coherent design strategy from digital, print and social media to video production gives my clients a complete package that will generate a buzz.
What types of customers have you worked with?
LiquidFly Designs' experience in web development as well as various custom platforms, digital media and print enables us to collaborate and contribute significantly to our clients in ways larger agencies wouldn’t. Our background includes several years working with print media, PHP/Magento, e-commerce and web various application involving API development and ERP, CRM, Analytic integration. LiquidFly Designs responsibilities are to provide consulting services from start to finish, ongoing maintenance and development with a nimble approach allowing us to adapt quickly to all the needs of our clients. In a nutshell
An Emphasis On Brand Building Through Technology, Marketing, Social Media & Web Solutions
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A big part of our jobs is to be problem solvers, that is certainly the case when it comes to building and maintaining websites. Our latest project and ongoing maintenance is a large ecom style site created to highlight the customer's vast catalog of brands and products. The site boasts almost 200 products, a store locator, tons of specs, videos and photos. Integrations with their social media allowed us to showcase their vast libraries of assets. This is the work that makes us who we are!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look through each designer's portfolio if you like their work then approach them about getting a quote. Keep in mind that quotes are just that and if you clear about your needs meeting a budget maybe easier than you think. It is always worth having the discussion. I always try to work with my clients on ways to save them not only time but money.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Professional designers know how to use the principles of design to communicate a message, present data, or elicit a desired response. It's not impossible for an amateur to achieve the same results, but it's less likely.
