About
I do this work for the betterment of my client and the Greater Good. What is the Greater Good? Well, we can discuss this at our first session! It is a concept I believe all humans should strive to practice. It makes you a better person and the world a better place. And who wouldn't want to feel better about themselves and the world around them?! I believe everyone has a purpose, and at times, life will derail us from reaching our full potential. I can help you answer those tough questions no one else wants to answer. I can add insight into those relationships that are dysfunctional. I can teach you coping skills to reduce, and at times, eliminate some of your symptoms. My goal is to work myself out of a job by teaching you how to cope with life in a productive manner so that you do not need my services anymore!
I enjoy watching my clients reach those "AH HA!" moments. Those moments of clarity that somehow answer a question they thought was unanswerable! I love being able to watch a person grow- in a positive direction- and see that they actually did the work for themselves. It is empowering for the client and inspries me to continue doing what I do!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to schedule a 10 minute complimentary phone consultation to get an understanding of the types of concerns you may have and if I am the right fit. I also can email a brief questionnaire to those not intersted in the phone consultation.
Prior to our first session, I ask that you complete the intake paperwork located on my website. This gives me a good understanding of your background so we can dive right into addressing your concerns. After reviewing these documents and mywebsite, you will have a better understanding of what I do and how I can help you get to feeling better!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. 6 of those years involve providing therapy in a variety of areas. Another 2 yrs I served as an Administrator over 3 mental health clinics in the public sector. I was also a psychology professor at a State University for over 2 years. I possess 2 mental health licenses which allow me to provide not only psychotherapy services, but psychological testing as well!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I accept ComPsych and cash-pay clients at this time. My typical fee for individual therapy is $125/50 min session. I charge $150/ min session for couples, and $150/hr for psychological testing services.
For individuals who need financial assistance, I offer services through Open Path Collective. Please visit www.openpathcollective.org for more information regarding their fees.
How did you get started in this business?
This was my dream job! From the moment I stepped foot in my first psychology class, I knew I wanted to be a therapist. I sought out many different types of positions to round out my skills. Some of those include providing therapy and mental health services in a prison and a county jail. After becoming an administrator for a non-profit organization and gaining some business experience, I knew it was time for me to persue my dream- which brings me to you!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of clients including, but not limited to: sex offenders, inmates, students, husbands, wives, males, females, LGBT, employed, unemployed, the severaly mentally ill, those seeking to better understand their life purpose and everyone in between. I do, however, only accept adult clients.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently moved into a new home after losing my home to Hurricane Harvey. This was a traumatic experience with a very happy (and comfortable ending)!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you choose a therapist whose personality 'meshes' well with yours. Not every therapist will be a good fit for you, and that is OK. Find someone you feel comfortable talking to so you can get the most out of your treatment.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What do I want to get out of therapy? What are my treatment goals?
How long and often do I anticipate participating in therapy?
How much can I afford?
How far am I willing to travel for a quality therapist?
What personality do I work best with?
