THR Tax And Accounting
About
I have been an accountant and tax professional since 1997, when I graduated with my Bachelor of Business Management in Accounting. I love to assist with small business accounting and startups, accounting systems, payroll and tax, individual income tax, and corporate tax.
I enjoy helping people with this complex subject. I like to be a resource that people can afford and can trust. My taxes are important to me, and I treat my clients as I would wish to be treated. My husband is a CPA, so I also enjoy having him as a resource, when needed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have a phone conversation, going through specific facts to determine exactly what the client is needing, and how much time will be needed to do great work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BBA in Accounting, Series 7 & 66 Financial Advisor certifications (no longer active), life & health and property & casualty insurance licenses, 25 years of corporate, non-profit, and small business accounting, payroll, tax, and reporting.
I also have extensive experience as a human resources manager, specializing in compliance, leadership and public speaking training, employee benefits like health insurance, 401K evaluation, short- and long-term disability, FMLA, and workers compensation.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $50 per hour, but I can also price by the project after the initial phone conversation.
How did you get started in this business?
Straight from college, I went to work for a local accounting firm and helped small business with their bookkeeping, accounting reports, payroll, tax, and other compliance.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Individuals, small businesses, LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, women- and minority-owned businesses, non-profits, large corporations in energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, and quarries.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We just held holiday celebrations with friends and family. We had all four of our children home, and it was just wonderful. My family is my reason for everything I do, and I am in awe of how proud a person can be from watching their children grow, learn, develop, and enjoy successes in their lives!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would make sure to speak with the professional--either in person or by phone. In person is best, but if not possible, be sure to hear their voice. You can pick up on so many important details about a person's level of skill, confidence, truthfulness, and ease of working together with a simple conversation. But body language and vocal inflection say so much more than words do...
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Try to describe what you need as completely as possible. One may think that "tax preparation" gives a professional all that they need, but there are so many different types of taxes and different situations that can complicate a return. If you have moved or work outside of the state in which you work, if you have merely collected receipts and haven't totalled them into categories, what investment activities you have, what donations you have given, and property that you own. Each of these items listed can take a return from very simple to very complex very quickly, so estimating a fixed price without a detailed review can be quite difficult. Professionals should have an interview or questionnaire for you to complete alone or with them before giving a final quote.
