Sherry Brokus Patton does assessment, psychotherapy and holistic life skills education with children (as young as two years of age), adolescents, and their parents and families; and adults. Therapeutic work combines a variety of relationship oriented, play, cognitive behavioral, solution focused and skill building methods. She works with persons who are ADHD, substance involved, depressed, anxious, suicidal; who are unable to get along with friends and family; who have difficulties in school and at work; who have been exposed to trauma, such as domestic violence, divorce, illness, death, and sexual abuse. She works with physicians to maximize the benefits of medication and psychotherapy.
Play and cognitive behavioral therapies provide children and teens the opportunity to work through issues that are difficult to express and understand. Parents and family build an effective team that improves parenting, behavior management, communications and rebuilds relationships.
Her work with adults includes brief and long term psychotherapy to work through and resolve issues. She believes in a short term yet holistic approach to treatment and emphasizing the development of long-term coping and life skills while incorporating deep relaxation, meditation, imagery, and self-hypnosis facilitating ones peace and spirituality.
