I grew up in rural Iowa where there were two options for healthcare: the local MD and the local chiropractor (DC).  Everyone knew you went to the MD for a prescription, minor surgery and general lab tests, and you went to the DC for back pain, joint pain, and maybe for the "weird" things.  My own chiropractor was working in the acupuncture system more than anything else, but I didn't know that at the time.

I discovered at age 12 that I could see and feel things in another person the same way my chiropractor did.  When I was 16, I realized I needed to follow this as my career path.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology and went on to a Doctorate in Chiropractic, but I was dissatisfied with my education in chiropractic school.  I was very well trained in musculoskeletal injuries but not in the subtle changes that can also affect the function of the body, and sadly, very undereducated in nutrition.

I earned my certification in acupuncture while I was in chiropractic school, because I believed this was the best way to achieve the kind of results my former chiropractor got regularly.  I later came to understand how the acupuncture channels are related to the fascial lines of the body, and studied the movement of electrons, photons, and frequencies through the body.  I also achieved certification as a functional medicine pracititioner.  Being trained in all these disciplines makes me a truly integrative practitioner.
