Cinematherapy Counseling Practice
About
Cinematherapy Counseling Practice is a private counseling practice, run by Dr. Esda D. Beverly. Cinematherapy is a tool that is utilized in conjuction with typical psychotherapies in order to promote growth and healing. Simply put, it is the practice of utilizing film to problem-solve external and/or internal issues and promote lasting healing. Individuals who enjoy film are encouraged to inquire, however this is not a requirement. Traditional psychotherapy modalities are utilized here and the use of film as a tool does not have to be utilized if the client does not wish it so.
Dr. Beverly has been practicing for over 10 years working with adults, children and their families. She has worked in psychiatric facilities and for non-profit agencies. I enjoy the various ways counseling and the practice of healing can be utilized. Therapy does not have to be boring, mundane or overly analytical. It is supposed to fun, engaging and healing. I enjoy bringing life back to my clients and seeing them find their own strengths again. My goal is to get fired. I want my clients to feel empowered to tell me they no longer need my assistance. That is the greatest joy for me.
