What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I either do web meeting, telephone calls, or in-person meetings. I contact clients with 48 hours of request for contact. I gather various information about client and/or business to make client file. I answer client questions. I provide client with all contact information for me. Once all questions are answered, I provide contract quote for expected work to be completed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an accounting diploma from Altamaha Technical College, a Bachelor's degree in General Studies with an emphasis on Business, Writing, English, and a minor Justice Studies from Georgia Southern University, an MBA from Virginia College, Tax Preparation School from H&R Block (1990), Tax Preparation School refresh course Jackson Hewitt Tax School (2012).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
My prices are based on the complexity of the project. Minimum tax preparation fees BEGIN at $75 for Federal Returns and $35 for State returns. My hourly rate is $50/hour, unless otherwise quoted.
How did you get started in this business?
I've always enjoyed working with my numbers, so when I graduated high school, I began working with H&R Block and found that I really enjoyed doing taxes. I later went to school for accounting and finally completed my MBA in 2010. I'm currently in process with working on my DBA.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of clients. Predominantly, my clients are individual, but I also have clients who are sole proprietors, partnerships, LLCs, S-corps, and Farmers.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure that individual is listed with the IRS. When they are listed with the IRS, their finger prints are on file if they offer electronic filing.
