I have been in business doing tax, accounting, and payroll services for almost 30 years. I started my business in NC, moved to CO and continued working there and now in TN. I provide quality services which keeps my clients returning. I have clients from all over the US. My fees are below most firms. I care for my clients and reach out to them to make sure they know any law changes or needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It depends upon the needs / wishes of the new client. Some like to work face to face. Others do not care and send me their information via email, fax, or dropbox with out even meeting me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 2 degrees in Accounting and Business. I continue my training by taking at least 20 hrs of continuing education a year.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Tax preparation is dependant upon the extensive of the tax return usually starting around $100.
Accounting work can be by the hour ($40) or by the job (monthly fee, one time fee, etc.)
Payroll runs $7 per employee per period for calculation. This fee includes calculating and filing the 941 tax deposit. Payroll reports run $120 a qtr. Year end reports are $50. W2's printed are $7 per W2.
Quickbooks training is by the hour of $40.
How did you get started in this business?
I worked for a CPA firm for 3 years until they dissolved the partnership. I went into business on my own at that time.

All types and businesses.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent client's Quickbooks bookkeeping was a pure mess. I went through month by month and fixed all the problems their financials had and trained the owner on how to record transactions properly through Quickbooks training.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Exactly what their needs are. If the pro has clients willing to give recommendations. How long they have been in business working with the public and background expertise. How they can provide the pro with the information they need to do the service properly. Measures of safety they provide knowing their information is secure from fraud and hackers trying to steal their information.
