About
My own family and church experience led me to a lifelong study of religion and psychology. I've worked and served in an array of endeavors including retail, marketing, publishing and as a lay counselor, worship leader, non-profit arts association founder and touring recording artist. I have been a professional licensed master's level therapist, now, for over a decade.
My greatest joy is helping you find and use your own authentic voice and enjoy your life to the fullest.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer a free initial 5-10 min. phone session to determine focus and fit. I work with each client differently depending on the client's goal. I do like to give homework and other resources (book suggestions, etc.) - if a client wants it. The first full session will be more fact-finding and clarifying the client's goal. Counseling clients are encouraged to remain in treatment for at least 6 sessions to get the best outcome.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my bachelor's degree in Communication and Human Relations at the State University of New York at Brockport, New York, and a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. I completed rigorous testing and requirements to become a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Tennessee. To enhance and inform my trauma and addiction work, I became a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) trained by the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). I am also an EMDR I trained clinician. I am a Clinical Fellow member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I offer a free 10 to 15-minute initial consultation to be sure that I am a good fit for you. Your first 60-minute intake session is $120.00. After that, each 50-minute session is $100.00. I recommend a minimum of six sessions. I do not take insurance at this time however I can provide you with a superbill that you can provide to your insurance company for possible reimbursements. Please let me know any extenuating circumstances that might make the cost prohibitive and I will see what I can do to help.
How did you get started in this business?
Starting at the age of 12, I found myself fascinated by the way people thought and behaved. I noticed people struggling and I wanted to understand and help. I found myself especially interested in "the meaning of life" and read as many books as I could find on psychology, spirituality and philosophy. I never lost my interest. I am now doing the work that I always imagined.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I help individuals and couples (adults and motivated adolescents). I worked for several years with men and women one-on-one and in group in an intensive mental health and addiction treatment facility treating trauma, addiction, and mood disorders.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My son and daughter-in-law were married last year. It was a beautiful wedding celebration.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
To get the best care, always choose a licensed professional because licensed professionals are rigorously trained and must adhere to a very high code of ethics regarding confidentiality and boundaries. This ensures that your privacy is strictly and carefully maintained. Choose a licensed professional who you feel you comfortable with - someone you can trust and who will call you out to be yourself. And, preferably, choose a licensed therapist who will challenge you with honesty and care, so that you can grow and change in the way you want to.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It is best for a client to ask themselves, "What is my goal for counseling? What is my desired outcome? What do I want to have achieved once I complete counseling?"
